One move

Treadmill Walk

Cardio Full body

How to read ahead. Do to go one move at a time.

Walk at an easy pace. Soft knees. Let the belt come to you. A small incline adds work without a jog. March in place when no treadmill is around.

Option. Couch-friendly: keep it an easy walk. Incline is optional. No treadmill: Marching in Place, same tall posture. Iron pumper: a hill first, then a short jog only when the walk already feels quiet. Return to a walk if landings get loud or a joint complains.

Show the steps
  1. 1

Set the belt to a walking speed you can talk through. Hold the rails only to get settled, then let the arms swing.

  2. 2

Stand tall. Soft knees. Eyes forward. Let the belt come to you — do not overstride.

  3. 3

Land quiet, heel to mid-foot. Keep the ribs down and the stride short.

  4. 4

Optional: raise a small incline if you want more work without a jog.

  5. 5

No treadmill: march in place with the same tall posture, like Marching in Place.

  6. 6

Slow the belt or step off if the joints complain, the low back arches, or you bounce into a jog you did not choose.

Treadmill Walk

  • Raises the heart rate while the joints take a walk, not a pounding
  • Scales from an easy walk to a quiet incline, with jog as a later option
  • Works on a treadmill or as a march in place when the belt is elsewhere
