How to read ahead. Do to go one move at a time.

Lateral bounds from one leg to the other, mimicking a speed skater. Builds single-leg power, lateral strength, and coordination.

Option. Start with smaller side-to-side steps. Add the hop and arm swing only when balance is solid.

Show the steps
  1. 1

Start on one leg with a soft knee.

  2. 2

Push off and bound laterally to the other leg, landing softly.

  3. 3

Let the trailing leg sweep behind for balance and swing the arms naturally.

  4. 4

Immediately push off again to the starting side.

  5. 5

Keep the chest up and landings quiet.

  6. 6

Reduce the distance if you cannot control the landing.

Skater Jumps

  • Trains lateral power and single-leg stability that straight-ahead moves miss
  • Raises the heart rate while improving coordination
  • Feels dynamic and fun once the rhythm clicks
