Single-Leg Calf Raises

Strength Lower body

How to read ahead. Do to go one move at a time.

Stand on one foot, rise onto the ball of the foot, pause, then lower with control. Builds calf strength and balance.

Option. Hold a wall or chair for support. Do both legs together if single-leg feels too hard today.

Show the steps
  1. 1

Stand on one foot near a wall or chair for light support if needed.

  2. 2

Keep the supporting knee soft and core engaged.

  3. 3

Rise up onto the ball of the foot as high as you can, feeling the calf contract.

  4. 4

Pause for one second at the top, then lower the heel slowly under control.

  5. 5

Complete all reps on one side before switching.

  6. 6
