One move

Outdoor Walk

How to read ahead. Do to go one move at a time.

Walk outside at a pace you can talk in. Pavement, a park path, or the block. A hallway or covered walk counts when the weather is unfriendly. A small hill only after the flat walk feels quiet.

Option. Stay on the flat. Slow down before you stop. A shorter block still counts. Hold a rail or a lamppost if balance feels unsure. Skip any hill if the breath or a joint complains.

  1. 1

Stand tall. Soft knees. Let the arms swing. Look ahead.

  2. 2

Walk at a talking pace. Breathe in a rhythm you can keep.

  3. 3

Stay on the flat first. A small hill only when that already feels quiet.

  4. 4

A hallway or covered walk is a full session when the weather is unfriendly.

  5. 5

Stop or slow down if a joint complains, the breath gets sharp, or the walk stops feeling easy.

Outdoor Walk

  • Turns a park, a pavement, or the block into a complete session
  • Gives the Outside location a walk that is not a treadmill
  • Keeps talking pace as the real work, with a hill as an optional step-up
