Explosive Push-Ups

Power Strength Upper body

How to read ahead. Do to go one move at a time.

Push-ups performed with enough force that the hands briefly leave the floor. Classic upper-body power builder.

Option. Start with regular push-ups or knee push-ups. Progress to a small clap only when the landing stays soft and controlled.

Show the steps
  1. 1

Set up in a strong high-plank or knee-plank position.

  2. 2

Lower with control, then drive through the hands powerfully enough that the hands leave the floor.

  3. 3

Land softly with slightly bent elbows and immediately begin the next rep.

  4. 4

Keep the core tight so the hips do not sag.

  5. 5

Quality and soft landings matter more than height.

  6. 6

Regress to regular push-ups the moment form suffers.
