One move

Decline Push-Ups

Strength Upper body

How to read ahead. Do to go one move at a time.

Feet elevated on a low surface, hands on the floor, lower and press. Emphasizes upper chest and shoulders.

Option. Start with a very low elevation (a step or book). Drop to regular or incline if form breaks.

Stop if. Your lower back sags — regressed to flat or incline push-ups.

Show the steps
  1. 1

Place your feet on a low sturdy surface and hands on the floor slightly wider than shoulders.

  2. 2

Keep your body in one straight line from head to heels — core tight.

  3. 3

Lower your chest toward the floor by bending the elbows about 45 degrees.

  4. 4

Press back up until arms are straight, without locking hard or letting hips drop.

  5. 5

Breathe in on the way down, out on the way up.

Decline Push-Ups

  • Lights up the upper chest for that classic full-pec look
  • Builds stronger shoulders and core stability under a new angle
  • A satisfying step up when regular push-ups start feeling easy
